Learn the conditional tense (el condicional) in Spanish! This tense expresses what "would" happen and is used for polite requests and hypothetical situations.

What is the Conditional Tense?

The conditional tense is used to express:

• What would happen: "I would eat"
• Polite requests: "Would you help me?"
• Hypothetical situations: "I would go if I had time"
• Advice: "You should..."
• Wonderment about the past: "What time would it be?" (I wonder what time it was)
