Reflexive Verbs in Daily Routines

What Are Reflexive Verbs?

Actions you do to yourself:

• vestirse = to dress (yourself)

"Los fines de semana, me despierto más tarde, a las 9 o 10. Me levanto despacio y desayuno tranquilamente. Por la mañana, limpio la casa y lavo la ropa. Translation: "On weekends, I wake up later, at 9 or 10. I get up slowly and have breakfast calmly. In the morning, I clean the house and do laundry. In the afternoon, I go out with friends or go to the park. Sometimes I go to the movies or to a restaurant. I return home at night, have dinner and watch a movie. I go to bed later, at midnight."

Common Time Expressions

Telling When You Do Things

Formula: Verb + a + la(s) + time

Examples:

• "Me levanto a las 7" (I get up at 7)
• "Desayuno a las 8" (I have breakfast at 8)
• "Trabajo de 9 a 5" (I work from 9 to 5)
• "Ceno a las 8 de la noche" (I have dinner at 8 PM)
