Mistake 1: Removing the infinitive ending

  • Wrong: "Yo comeía"
  • Right: "Yo comería" (keep -er, add -ía)

Mistake 2: Forgetting accent marks

  • Wrong: "Yo hablaria"
  • Right: "Yo hablaría" (all conditional forms have accents!)

Mistake 3: Using conditional for simple future

  • Wrong: "Mañana comería" (for "I will eat tomorrow")
  • Right: "Mañana comeré" (use future tense)
  • Conditional: "Yo comería pizza" (I would eat pizza - hypothetical)

Mistake 4: Irregular stem errors

  • Wrong: "Yo podería"
  • Right: "Yo podría" (PODER has irregular stem podr-)

Mistake 5: Confusing conditional with imperfect

  • Imperfect: describes past habits
